Secret Agent Garden Mission

Two agents. One hidden target. A trail of secret clues.

Location: Backyard, garden or supervised park
Time: 20–30 minutes

The Mission

Agent Scout searches the field for hidden clue cards. Agent Control remains at the Safe House—a park bench, backyard stairs or another agreed location—and uses the Mission Mates Video Walkie Talkie to examine each clue, solve the riddle and guide Scout towards the next location.

Find every clue and recover the hidden target to complete the mission!

You’ll Need

  • Two fully charged Mission Mates Video Walkie Talkies

  • Three to five clue cards

  • One small target, such as a toy, painted rock, treat or treasure box

  • A pencil and paper for Agent Control

  • An adult to prepare the mission

Set Up the Mission

  1. Choose a fixed Safe House for Agent Control.

  2. Hide the target somewhere within the agreed play area.

  3. Write three to five clues leading from one location to the next.

  4. Hide each clue in order, with the final clue leading to the target.

  5. Give Agent Scout the first clue or tell them where their mission begins.

How to Play

  1. Agent Scout enters the field with one walkie-talkie. Agent Control stays at the Safe House with the other.

  2. When Scout finds a clue, they show it to Control through the video screen.

  3. Agent Control solves the clue and radios instructions back to Scout.

  4. Scout follows the directions, searches the new area and reports anything suspicious.

  5. Continue until Scout finds the final target.

  6. Swap roles, create a new trail and play again.

Sample Clues

  • “Find something that gives shade when the sun is high.”

  • “Take seven steps from the plant with thorns.”

  • “Look down low where the grass grows longest.”

  • “Your target is close to something red.”

Level Up the Mission

Timed Mission: Complete the mission before ten minutes runs out.

Code Breaker: Replace ordinary clues with simple picture codes or scrambled words.

Double Agent: Hide a decoy target near the real one. Scout must show it to Control before claiming victory.

Junior Agents: Skip riddles and let Control give simple directions using landmarks and colours.

Mission Safety

Set clear boundaries before starting. An adult should supervise younger children and all games in public spaces. Avoid roads, water, dense bushes and places where children cannot be seen safely.
